Exemestane (Aromasin)

Indicated therapy:

• post-menopausal women identified with hormone-receptor-positive, first-stage breast cancer after they’ve taken tamoxifen for two or three years to minimize the risk of the malignancy coming back
• post-menopausal women detected with advanced-stage or metastatic hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer

Women should not take tamoxifen once they begin using Exedrol (Exemestane).

This preparation won’t react on hormone-receptor-negative breast malignancy.

This preparation is a tablet taken one time a day. The majority of physicians advise taking these tabs at the exact same time every day.

This medication is utilized as an additional treatment for postmenopausal women with estrogenreceptor positive early breast cancer who have taken two to three years of tamoxifen and have switched to Exemestane for finishing point of period of 5 consecutive years of supplementary extra hormonal therapy.

Exemestane – Side Effects

Get in touch with your doctor for consultation about bad symptoms.
Hot flashes, rapid breathing, painful joints and muscles, headache, unusual sweating, unsettled stomach, diarrhea, sleepiness, vertigo, difficult resting, and nausea can appear. If any of indicated effects continue or worsen, inform your doctor or pharmacist at once.
Remember that your doctor has approved this medication for the reason that the benefits to you outweigh the possibility of adverse symptoms. A lot people using this medication don`t have serious side reactions.
Contact your doctor instantly if one of the listed serious negative effects occurs: weak wrists, numbness of hands/feet, hair loss, mental/mood changes (despair, nervousness), agitation.

A very fatal allergic reaction to this preparation is unlikely, but seek medical attention immediately if one occurs. Reactions of a serious allergy responses may include:

• inflammation,
• burning,
• swelling (in particular of every part of the face/neck),
• vertigo,
• difficulty breathing.

Exemestane Overdose

In case overdose is suspected, seek medical attention immediately.

Exemestane – Missed dosage

If you miss a dose, use it immediately when you remember, if not it is within 2 hours of your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your typical dosing schedule. Don’t double the dose to catch up.
