Salbutamol

Ventolin belongs to a class of medication known as bronchodilators. The active ingredient salbutamol works by opening the breathing passages and relaxing the muscles in the airways. It is used to prevent and treat difficulty breathing, chest tightness, coughing and wheezing caused by lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Some people may also use the medication to prevent breathing difficulties caused by exercising.
