Proviron acts as an anti-aromatic: it prevents the aromatization (transformation) of anabolic steroids into estrogens. It thus prevents gynecomastia. It should be pointed out that Proviron and Nolvadex are two anti-estrogens with different but complementary mechanisms of action, which is why combining them is so effective: while Proviron prevents the aromatization of anabolic steroids, Nolvadex obstructs estrogen receptor cells, preventing it from acting.
